Why our Consulting?
Why companies hire consulting firms in the first place?
The question makes sense. Why wouldn’t the companies just sort their own challenges—whether in planning, strategy, research, implementation or even a new market entry by themselves.
An External View
When dealing with challenges, we turn to our peers, friends for advice. Companies too need this. especially when making tough decisions. Often, clients have a perspective on how to solve the problem they are facing but want to make sure that what they’re thinking right or perhaps because they are so close to the situation, they are actually missing the obvious. Turning to external consultants, hence comes naturally to forward looking organizations.
Consultants work with multiple companies and worked through similar challenges across other companies. They can provide a perspective based on what they’ve seen working. They bring innovative ideas and solutions that they may not have seen on their own.
The issues companies need to solve are important, but they lack specialist resources. Organizations have to their day-to-day operations, and new projects require re-prioritizing job responsibilities. Hiring full time new employees to fill gaps does not make sense either, seeing as many of these projects are time bound. Whether it’s new strategy for solving a business problem or business planning for a new product or service, requires a dedicated team for six months or a new digital strategy, requires a dedicated team for months, clients might cannot get such a team in place.
At Vidvox Consulting, we quickly mobilize highly skilled consultants to deploy for such assignments. We’re not full-time employees of the company, so it is often cheaper to use us than hire someone new. Because our consulting resources switch around companies, we’re used to the fast learning curve. By using our consultants, companies save themselves from pulling away their employees, from their actual jobs.
Another reason companies hire us is to gain access to a specialized skill that may not exist in house. By engaging us, companies get access to a group of professionals that have between fifteen to thirty years of industry experience. These specialized people would be highly expensive to hire. Thanks to our consultants, companies bring in that skill set on demand when they need it.
Companies working on a challenging problem find it hard to make decisions or necessary actions without getting wrapped up in internal conflict or office politics. They bring our consultants to provide an unbiased view and perhaps do the dirty work for them.
Clients might engage us for major restructurings or controversial projects so they can be handled by an external party that’s experienced and not involved within the organization. We provide the required research with market confirmation for a new idea that might not be well-received within an organization, without risking careers.
As you can see, consultants really support companies in a lot of ways—and as a consultant you get to dig into a lot of tough situations. It’s not easy work, but for problem-solvers like me, it’s exciting work.
